Tokyo Fashion Week: Global Fashion Collective

Debuting at Vancouver Fashion Week, Global Fashion Collective is a platform that curates exclusive runway shows in fashion capitals around the world to push for a more inclusive and diverse industry. The collective has showcased six emerging brands in one show for Tokyo Fashion Week S/S 2020. The line-up: Haus Zuk, Ryan Li, Morph8ne, GAIROJU, Johnathan Hayden, and Rebeca Rebeca. Each collection brought its own distinct style. Standout shows included Ryan Li’s take on business women of the future, complete with robotic welding helmets and all-in-one bodysuits under comically padded jackets. Meanwhile, well-known goth brand Morph8ne’s dark collection included a bridal dress! The fabrics were light and airy but the heavy colour palette made sure to emphasise their moody edge on the runway.
