Shōwa Girls
From post-war hardships to the prosperous bubble economy—the Shōwa era was an era of contradictions. Styles evolved from modest, practical wear into the bolder, vivid colours that now typify the retro era. Through film photography we take a look at stunning Shōwa Girls Seira and Sakura. Both girls are vintage fashion enthusiasts and shop staff at RRR Tokyo. Pairing their colourful looks with bags from Oyasumi Club—a shop based in Nakano selling bold, graphic-printed apparel, accessories, and handmade plushies—the girls reminisce about the good old days.
