Kristina (cybr.grl)

If wifi was a person, that person would probably look like Kristina. She’s the image of the internet that has come to life with added Technicolor realness. She likes to experiment with wild colour and prints to amp-up her style, and even has a whole arm full of anime tattoos because, like they say, you should wear your heart on your sleeve. Check out her instagram for some funky fashion inspiration!

Who/what inspires your fashion?

Growing up surrounded by many different cultures has given me an open mind to appreciate many unique things that other people might find “weird”. I think “weird” is beautiful. Which in turn inspires me to dress like so. I am also very inspired by the friends I made online such as @choom.online, @seannyboy808, @kelseykeepsitclassy, @salztokyo, and @abi_laurel! Their creativity and positivity continually encourage me to keep doing my thang!

How do you balance school, fashion, and family?

Honestly I have no clue. It took me a whole day to figure this out but now that I think about it I’m just like a chicken running around with its head chopped off. But two main reasons why I am able to so far still be alive and balance all these things are because of my trusty organizer notebook (I legitimately have the memory span of a goldfish so it’s incredibly important that I write things down) and the support from my amazing friends and family! I love you guys!!!

How would you describe your style, and what inspired you to dress in that style? Also, what do you enjoy most about street fashion?

I’ve always thought to myself that if there was a genre that I’d be put in it’d be called “Kawaii Sweg” which sounds super corny, I know, but I’ve always liked mixing cute elements with typically “cool” street fashion-like elements. I love Kawaii culture and I love Street fashion culture so I wanted to mesh these two worlds that I love to create my own look.

I want to show people that you can still look stylish and cool even if you have every color in the Crayola box on your body. I also sometimes wish that people didn’t take fashion so seriously. The one rule I always have in mind is that there are no rules to fashion. It’s very encouraging when you’re out and about and a little kid or just someone your age looks at you and says “Wow, I wish I could dress like that too” and to those people I say, YES YOU CAN.

One of the main reasons why I love going out every single day dressed up in something funky is to encourage everyone else to do so as well! Wouldn’t the world be a more beautiful and fun place?

How has your style changed over time?

It has definitely become a lot more colorful and a lot more bold. I want to continually become better and better at my craft. I’ve gone through many phases to reach where cybr.grl is today. I remember being really into wearing completely thrifted outfits then of course I went through an emo phase as well with my band tees and side bangs.

All of which accumulated and evolved to become me. I’m really glad that I found the courage to actually wear what I want to wear because I have always been interested in clothing since I was little but it was not until I fully wore clothing that showed who I was on the inside that I truly discovered myself. So I highly encourage everyone to step outside of their comfort zones and get creative!

What are your future goals and dreams?

My main goal in life is to stay happy and to share that happiness with others!

Apart from fashion, what are some of your hobbies?

I am a huge weeb, please forgive me. I consume an unhealthy amount of anime and cosplay at anime conventions and I even have a side Insta for my anime stuff (wink wink if you can find it). I also love scouring the web for new music to listen to! Currently I love future funk and vaporwave music. I love listening to and supporting independent and underground artists!
