Chrissa Sparkles
We want to highlight cute fashion brands both in and out of Japan, so this is the perfect opportunity to introduce: Chrissa Sparkles! Her brand, also named Chrissa Sparkles, aims to create clothing that promotes staying true to yourself and expressing yourself through your style, a feeling held throughout the worldwide community. The clothing is both cute and functional. Some of her latest releases include activewear we could see being worn outside the gym, and swimsuits which could totally be doubled as a regular bodysuit! As well as being a fashion designer, she is half of the cutest couple (her partner is KawaiiGuyLA!) in LA and mum to two adorable furry babies.
Tell us about you / your brand!
I am a clothing designer born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Coming from a theatre and acting background, performance in some way has and always will be a part of me. I express this through my designs using flashy and fun fabrics that make me happy. Chrissa Sparkles represents a cute lifestyle with a bit of a sassy edge, that plays the fine line between fun and sexy at the same time. It’s a brand I hope people turn to that helps express themselves and already accentuates how amazing they are already!
Your brand has been size inclusive from the very start which is amazing! What other things are important to you when it comes to your brand?
Authenticity is the word that comes to mind. I want to make sure I’m designing products that I would genuinely love to wear and keep forever, and my customers can sense that.
What’s the most exciting thing that has happened to you this past year?
I quit my day job of 6 years teaching Pilates classes! I’m fully independent focusing on my clothing line and creative director jobs. It’s rad!
Where do you see your business in the next 10 years? What are your goals for the future?
I ultimately see my business expanding into this lifestyle empire that reaches all kinds of people. From high-end celebrities to the general public of people in small towns who want to add some kind of cute into their lives.
Tokyo or LA?
This is so hard! As much as I love Tokyo and would visit all the time, I love LA to the moon and back. It’s home.
Ice cream or donuts?
I scream for ice cream!
Any last words?
Stay cute!
