Beauty Call: Mana
They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Bright, colourful, weird, or wonderful—the Japanese street fashion community is home to a wealth of creatives who reimagine themselves with their make-up artistry on a daily basis. Flower stamps, neon lips…a wicked black wing? Make-up transforms and redefines beauty, and Beauty Call is here to introduce and showcase some of the new faces within our community.
Meet Japanese model, Mana Hamada.
Please introduce yourself!
My name is Mana Hamada and I’m a Japanese model. I’m with a Parisian agency called Urban Model Management. I’m a member and supporter of the LGBTQ community. My hometown is Osaka.
Why is skincare so important to you?
It is important because what you do doesn’t mean much if you don’t do the basics properly.
Please describe your skincare routine.
I take a half-bath (immersing my lower body in a hot bath to boost blood flow and circulation, release muscular tension, and aid detoxification) everyday. I also wrap my face and massage my body with baby oil to flush away toxins. I’ve been doing this for over 10 years. Oh, and I moisturise and massage.
What does beauty mean to you?
It is a process of learning and growing from your experiences. I think that it is during this process that a person’s beauty truly becomes attractive and something that can be conveyed from the inside out.
